Big Red is a registered Holstein. She is a former show cow and is therefore halter trained. At 8 years of age (DOB: 09/2016), Red has the experience of milking that would be perfect for a beginning milker. She is trained to a stanchion and milking machine. Depending on how much you feed her, she has been known to give 14 gallons with twice/day milking and approximately 7 gallons with once/day milking. Her milk has a sweet flavor and cream level comparable to our Jersey. Her milk is NOT the typical holstein milk (flavorless, commercial). Make a variety of dairy products with enough leftover to feed your other homestead animals (pigs, poultry, etc).

Red has never had mastitis under our care and is good in all 4 quarters. Red is a tall cow that requires a full-size bull or A.I. to breed. Currently dry and out on pasture. Exposed to a devon bull.
